From summer seats to walk-in wardrobes.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work in joinery. There’s something really special about crafting with your hands then taking a proud step back to look at the finished article. As a young lad, with help from my dad, I would make all sorts of garden furniture, plant pots, summer seats, you name it.
If I had an idea, Dad and I would go together to buy the wood, and I would set about my project. I loved how happy this made the people around me. I could sense how my creations filled them with joy, and this made me very proud
At sixteen, I started an apprenticeship with a local joiner and learned how to craft doors and staircases professionally. Then at nineteen, with my dad’s help again, I built a custom workshop and opened my first joinery business – making bespoke wooden stairs. This led to some customers also asking about wardrobes. As often happens, life got in the way, and after ten years, I moved to a new life near Belfast – away from the business I’d worked hard to build.
Then 2016 I decided to follow my lifelong passion and founded Dream Designs NI! Combining my love of joinery and my perfectionist qualities, I now help people save space with beautiful sliding door wardrobes and walk-in wardrobes to complete their dream bedroom.
